Production Ondinnok and Théâtre de la Vieille 17

THEATRE | YOUTH 5+

CANCELLED

Without the beating drum, words don't exist.

Delphine is a dreamy, determined Wolastoqey girl. Ever since her father mislaid his late muhsums' drum, Delphine has been determined to find it, whatever the cost. One autumn day, as the wind picks up, Delphine is transported to the world of forest spirits. There she meets the mischievous porcupine, the opera-singing owl, and Kiwahq, the terrible beast with a heart of ice! Will she overcome the challenges of the forest to find her drum? With his play TOQAQ MECIMI PUWIHT / Delphine rêve toujours, Wolastoqey playwright Dave Jenniss tackles the themes of transmission and identity, and reappropriates the language of his ancestors. This bilingual show in French and Wolastoqey is performed by indigenous and non-indigenous artists.

Designed for children aged 5 to 9 years, from kindergarten to third grade. The performance lasts about 50 minutes.

Unfortunately we had to cancel TOQAQ MECIMI PUWIHT / Delphine rêve toujours due to technical issues. We understand the disappointment this may cause, and we want to express our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the troupe, Productions Ondinnok, and Théâtre de la Vieille 17 for their dedication. We wish them great success on their tour, which will begin on October 5th in Montreal and hope to have them on an other occasion.
