During the Skeleton Park Arts Festival on Saturday June 22, we will present Chanter la Pomme, which features Alison Gowan (QC) and Jan Le Clair (ON), and blends drone-based timbres from the hurdy-gurdy and accordion to create dynamic interpretations of traditional dance and song music and neo-traditional cultures of Central Europe and elsewhere. Original members of the Swamp Ward Orchestra, Jan and Alison draw on a wide variety of musical influences, from classical to klezmer, and have performed on many stages including the Calgary Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Lunenburg Folk Harbor Festival, the Festival Chants de Vielles and Dance Flurry in New York.
