The Centre culturel Frontenac is pleased to organize a Family Day with creative activities in French for both children and adults, in collaboration with the artist Mafane. This event, scheduled for Monday, February 17, is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the French language through captivating storytelling and artistic activities for the whole family.
The day will begin at 10:30 AM with the storytelling session “L’ailleurs est un bien vaste pays.” In this activity, Mafane will take you on an imaginary journey through traditional tales from various regions of the world. Playful stories, legends, and magical tales will intertwine to offer an unforgettable experience. This 45-minute show will captivate both young and old, transporting them to far-off lands filled with mystery and adventure.
At 11:15 AM, a snack will be offered, allowing participants to relax and enjoy a convivial moment together.
The day will continue at 1:00 PM with the storytelling conference “Sortir le conte du livre,” designed for children aged 7 and up. Mafane will explore how tales, often passed down through books or animated films, can regain their vitality through oral storytelling. She will invite the audience to rethink how to make these traditional stories their own by lending them their voice and energy. The conference will be followed by a group visual art activity led by professor Matthew Poirier, offering participants the chance to express their creativity and produce a collective artwork that will be displayed in the theatre lobby before the show.
This event is free, but space is limited, so registration is required for each activity.
