Le Sésame Theater was buzzing with wonderful energy on Sunday, December 7, as we held our Bilingual Youth Open Mic, presented in partnership with the Tourism Kingston Music Office. A huge thank you to them for organizing this beautiful event. For two hours, the stage transformed into a true hub of creativity, where young artists from Kingston and the surrounding region let their voices, words, and melodies blossom. In the soft afternoon light, the laughter, applause, and collective drive of the participants brought to life a moment that was simple, authentic, and deeply inspiring.

Thank you also to the young Kingston entrepreneur,Claire’s Cards, as well as Long & McQuade, who were present to support the event. Long & McQuade provided the grand prize: a brand-new guitar to be won through the Tourism Kingston raffle. Congratulations to Cristina, who won the prize and left beaming after stepping onto the stage. Her smile during the presentation perfectly reflected the spirit of this event: a springboard, an invitation to dare, and a space to discover and celebrate oneself. Thank you to Véloce André who animated the event showed us a snippet of his talents. We will get the chance to hear more from him on April 10 as the opening act of Waahli!

A massive thank you to the Tourism Kingston Music Office for championing this initiative with remarkable generosity, and to all the volunteers whose attentive presence made all the difference. Thank you also to the young artists, whose courage and creativity illuminated the day. And for those who missed this edition—or who are already dreaming of taking the stage again—registration for next month’s event at the Broom Factory is now open: $https://forms.gle/v6x66aPpvC6VamnK9$
May this beautiful momentum continue to shine a light on local talent.
